SmallRig Cheese Bar:
\nThis is the starting point. Everything I use attaches to this. I have room for my tripod, my phone, a iPad, 2 lights, 1 mic (not used on Zoom (it cancels out the audio you hear\u2026 so when I zoom I just use my earbuds).<\/p>\n
SmallRig Magic Arm:
\nThese little things are what changed the game for me. They allow for 2 points of swivel. This means I can turn and angel the lights away from my face to create a softer spill Vs the harsh light pointed direct at me.<\/p>\n
I found it\u2019s also great for when I use a mic. I can point the mic directly at my mouth for better audio capture.<\/p>\n
I also like the fact they are so small and light. Traditional ball heads are bigger, heavy and only have one point of swivel.<\/p>\n
SmallRig Clamp with 9.5 inch arm:
\nThe Magic Arms come in different lengths. I have the 5.8\u201d and the 9.5\u201d and a few of the baby ones. I also have a bigger one that\u2019s 11\u201d<\/p>\n
I like that this kit comes with a bonus clamp.<\/p>\n
This allows you to connect to more unique spaces. Like a desk, a tripod a tree, a gimbal or a selfie stick. Really anything you want!<\/p>\n
I suggest at least one long one because it can be used as a boom pole to get the mic closer to your mouth. I also use it to position my iPad under the camera when using my teleprompter.<\/p>\n
Holders for smartphones and tablets:
\nThis isn\u2019t by SmallRig, but it looks promising because it has 4 mounting points if you include the cold shoe. Mose only have 2. Some have 3. This company makes them with 4! Same goes for the phone version.<\/p>\n
